Warriors in the boardroom

An immersive practice in embodied masculine leadership.

Warriors in the Boardroom is a coaching program developed by Shannon O’Brien. This is a leadership program for high potential, senior leaders for them to improve their soft skills, become more productive, manage stress, develop self-awareness and align their deepest purpose and values to their work.

The program is facilitated through the lens of 7 archetypal energies matching the chakra system.

Shannon needed a full branding for his program that would convey several aspects of it: expertise, trustworthiness, consciousness, mind/body/spirit connection and masculinity.

We created a branding that can be used seamlessly throughout the brochures, booklets and website, including a logo, patterns, imagery and illustrations for the 7 archetypes.

Moodboard Warriors in the Boardroom

Visual identity

Practicing the skills of balancing warrior energy with creativity and connection.

The first phase of the brand research was to create mood boards that illustrate the universe of traditional warriors and masculine power. The values we highlighted were those of resilience, trustworthiness and service. We explored the tribal and alchemical visual references with their contrasting patterns and geometrical shapes. Based on this inspiration, we presented 5 directions for the logo. The “Tribal” concept was the winner.

With the final logo ready, we focused on creating the colour palette, imagery and patterns. We presented three colour palettes options to represent the Warriors in the Boardroom universe: Desert, Gold and Night Sky.

We decided that the Desert look and feel was the most fitting to the brand, with the idea of overcoming challenges and going within to extract inner resources and wisdom.

The Desert represents clarity, and also the harsh realities of survival. These areas are brutal and call upon the deepest reserves of a traveller’s will, making them a source of resilience and enlightenment.

 

The Gold colour came naturally to mind as the program is an alchemical process where the participants go through profound transformation. The colour is associated with the sun, a masculine energy. It symbolises success, confidence and wisdom.

The Night Sky theme was chosen for its invitation to go beyond, stars representing a sense of direction and infinite possibilities. Blue is associated with trust, integrity, consciousness and expertise.

Shannon wanted to have each archetype represented by a symbol that the participants could easily identify with. We proposed to use animal totems: in the traditional cultures, animals have served as harbingers of personality traits we, as humans, all aspire to achieve.

Once we found the animals for each of the 7 archetypes, we looked for minimalist linear illustrations that would match the style of the logo.

As the archetypes are based on the qualities of the 7 chakras, we applied their designated colours to the 7 animal totems.

The landing page introduces the program’s content and benefits, with clear call to actions to apply.

BROCHURE AND MANUALS

We applied the branding to relevant marketing collateral: an intro booklet, a brochure and 7 practice manuals.
